Facebook collects data of basic usage patterns like time of login, the device used to log in, apps or websites visited after using Facebook, searched cookies, items added to a wishlist or cart, items purchased or donation made, and search results. Moreover, it also keeps an eye on your contacts, ads or products you interact with, current location, address, and more.

The user needs to visit Facebook and click the more options menu located on the top right corner on Android and the bottom in iOS. After tapping on the 'Settings and Privacy' option, open the Setting panel and head over into the 'Apps and notifications' option. Tap on Facebook and then open the Permission tab and select refuse permission for all settings.

Open the Facebook app and tap on the 'More Settings' hamburger icon on the top right corner on Android and the bottom on iOS. Users need to tap on Settings and then tap on off-Facebook Activity. Lastly, click on 'Clear History' to clean all your data and disable the option.

Once you disable the option, all the activity which was earlier being tracked will stop immediately, you will stop receiving personalised advertisements and junk notifications.

Facebook will never stop tracking you completely, it will keep on tracking your routine usage inside of its applications like time spent, login sessions, and so on.
