Stargazers are in for a treat! The last lunar eclipse of the year will take place on Friday, November 19. It will be visible in the country for a short span from northeastern India. The ending of the partial phase of which will be visible for a very short span of time just after the moonrise from extreme north-eastern parts of Arunachal Pradesh and Assam.

The last lunar eclipse is all set to begin at 11:34 am IST (Indian Standard Time) and will last for six hours till 05:33 pm. 

What is a lunar eclipse?

Notably, a lunar eclipse occurs on a full moon day when the Earth comes in between the Sun and the Moon and when all the three objects are aligned. It will be visible in India from the extreme north-eastern parts of Arunachal Pradesh and Assam.

The US, Northern Europe, East Asia, Australia, and the Pacific Ocean region will also experience the lunar eclipse. This partial lunar eclipse will be the second and final lunar eclipse of 2021.

What is a partial lunar eclipse

A partial lunar eclipse happens when the Earth moves between the Sun and the Full Moon, but they are not precisely aligned. Only part of the Moon's visible surface moves into the dark part of the Earth's shadow.
