A 40-year-old woman was allegedly duped to the tune of Rs1.75 lakh under the pretext of constructing a mobile tower at her house at Bharati Vidyapeeth. The woman responded to an advertisement in a local newspaper that promised high returns to people renting out their terrace or land for installation of towers.

Vaishali Suhas Athawale (40) of Ambegaon Pathar has filed a complaint with Bharati Vidyapeeth police station.

According to the police, the advertisement also promised a government job. Vaishali called on the given number mentioned in the advertisement and deposited deposited Rs1.75 lakh in the suspects’ bank accounts. She approached the police when suspects stopped responding to her calls.
