Every year, the school board of PCMC orders sweaters for its students. But it has once again delayed it like earlier years. The procedure has just begun for purchase of the sweaters, when the city’s already cold and the students need the sweaters.

The school board has published notice for inviting tender for the purchase of sweaters in September 26. in the tender procedure only 9 suppliers took part. The School board was supposed to open  on October 17, but has not opened the tenders and postponed it till November 2. For the scrutiny and shortlisting of the suppliers, the board took another 15 days.

According to sources authorities opened only one bid. The sample of the sweaters have not been sent to the laboratory yet. After approving of the samples the board will issue work order.  The supplier will take another 60 days from the work order. It simply means the students will not get sweaters during the winter season.

When asked about the issue, Fazal Sheikh chairman of school board could only say, “Only four tenders out of 9 received have been shortlisted. Samples from these four suppliers will be sent to the laboratory soon.”
