The 21 assembly segments and the total 7,117 polling centres in district witnessed enthusiastic voters turning up since morning to ensure their names in the electoral roll or not.Many voters found mistakes as their photos or addresses have been repeated in the list.Citizens faced many problems including availability of Form 6 which was in high demand for enrolling names in the voter's list besides other stationery including stapler or gum to paste their photographs on the forms.Many citizens faced problems due to mistakes on part of data entry regarding details of the voters by the election branch.The Election Commission of India had announced that voters would be given a chance on March 9 to ascertain whether their names are featuring in the voter's list.The branch with the district collector's office organised for such a campaign at all the 7,117 polling centers in the district.There are more than 72 lakh voters in the four Lok Sabha constituencies of Pune, Baramati, Shirur and Maval. There are 850 sector officers to oversee the entire campaign and the actual work is to be done by booth level officers.Apurva Wankhede, deputy district election officer, said that the centres received encouraging response. "It was not possible right now to say how many citizens benefited from it since the data is being compiled through the sector officers.
