The feud between two top medical officers of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has taken a new turn. Chief medical officer Dr Somnath Pardeshi on Saturday alleged that Dr Devendra Shirole, a psychiatrist, had not having registered his name with the Maharashtra Medical Council (MMC) while joining the service in 1987. In a letter to the civic chief Mahesh Pathak, Dr Pardeshi sought an inquiry into the matter. Interestingly, Dr Pardeshi was recently in the dock for not renewing his licence with the MMC. The letter y was released to the media by Dr Pardeshi himself. The letter sent to the municipal commissioner stated that Dr Shirole joined duty at the PMC on April 27, 1987 as a psychiatrist, but while doing so he did not register with the MMC. He sought to register with the MMC on August 28, 2011 and till that time he served without the professional certificate, the letter stated.
