Madhav Jagtap, head of anti-encroachment department of PMC said that the action was taken against illegal sheds in Ramtekadi area on Tuesday morning. A religious institution was being run in that shed and no permission to run the institute was taken from PMC, therefore action was taken on Monday.

“One month back, we had sent notice to the institution and after that we took action against the encroachment. During the anti-encroachment drive, a mob pelted stones on the staffers in which assistant commissioner Sukumar Patil sustained injuries,” Jagtap said.
