Cops suspect boy ended life fearing failure in SSC exam
The body of a teenager was found hanging from a tree at a sugarcane field in Charoli village on Thursday.
Vishrantwadi police have identified the deceased as Krushikesh Shivaji Nalawade (16) of Charoli village. They suspect that the standard X student took the extreme step fearing that he might fail in the SSC exam. The victim had gone missing from June 7, the day the SSC results were announced.
Speaking to dna, Vishrantwadi police station sub-inspector RD Motale said, “Krushikesh, who had appeared for the SSC exam, went missing from the morning of the day the results were to be declared. His parents lodged a missing complaint with us.”
One of the locals found the boy hanging from a tree in the middle of a sugarcane field on Thursday morning and informed the victim’s family and police.
“We have sent the body for post-mortem. Prime facie, it appears to be a suicide case as we did not find any suicide note from the spot. We have registered an accidental death case.” Motale said.
