Twenty-one-year-old Shashwat Pradhan, bagged two prizes in the Google Fit Developer Challenge for developing two mobile applications.Pradhan, who studies in the College of Engineering Pune (CoEP), started his company called Emberify in June 2014. With a team of only four people, Pradhan started to work on Android-based applications.

Speaking with iamin, Pradhan said, “I am yet to finish my engineering but was always interested into developing applications with a company of my own. The five of us at Emberify have been working on various applications.”Pradhan won two prizes for his applications titled Instant and Earn That Bite. 'Instant' is a health application which helps the user understand the amount of time spent on various platforms. Pradhan explained, “Instant is an application which will help the user in understanding the time spent on a particular activity. It logs data such as time spent on exercising, accessing social media platforms such as Facebook and WhatsApp as well as time spent at home, shopping, outings and work.”'Earn That Bite' won second prize in the competition held by Google. This application is helpful for those who want to go on a diet but are not motivated enough. “You need to exercise pretty hard in order to burn calories. Once you burn a certain amount of calories, the application prompts you to feast on your favourite meal,” said Pradhan.Presently, Pradhan has partnered with a cell phone brand, Yotophone, which will have applications of Emberify pre installed on their devices. “The awards are a motivation both to my team members and me,” said Pradhan.
