There are 201 nalas in the four zonal wards of PCMC out of which 145 big nalas have been cleaned and 45 smaller nalas have been assigned to private contractors

Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) chief Shrikar Pardeshi has ordered the civic staff to demolish the illegal structures along the nalas in the twin town to avoid water logging in the area.

Accompanied by joint commissioner Pandurang Zure and health officer of drainage department Rajaram Chavan, Pardeshi started his second round of field visits to inspect nala cleaning works in all the four wards of the twin town.

While on Tuesday, the civic staff inspected the nullah cleaning work in ward B, the nala cleaning work in ward-A was inspected on Wednesday.

While inspecting the nalas in Ward-B, Pardeshi noticed that a number of illegal structures have come up surrounding it. That prompted him to give the instructions to demolish the structures.

Pardeshi also instructed the engineering department to carry the repair works of various nalas and remove the waste from it in order to avoid water logging.

There are 201 nalas in the four zonal wards of PCMC. The civic staff has cleaned the 145 big nalas and the work of cleaning 45 smaller nalas has been awarded to private contractors.
