Bharatiya Janata party (BJP) state unit spokesperson Madhav Bhandari said that Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) president Sharad Pawar’s love for land is well known and hence he has criticised chief minister Prithviraj Chavan for not signing files.
The Union minister for agriculture had criticised Chavan by questioning whether he was ‘paralysed’ for not signing files for three months. Chavan had retaliated on Wednesday by saying that the files which had personal recommendations are not his priority.
Bhandari, while addressing a press conference, demanded that both Pawar and Chavan should put before people as to which files have not been signed and what kind of public interest is not served by not signing these files. “Why doesn’t Chavan remove NCP ministers who are pressing for signing files which contain vested interests?,” said Bhandari.
Bhandari said that the builders’ lobby from Pune and Mumbai has been hurt in the recent past since many files were not cleared. “Pawar’s love for land is well known. He has just given air to this unrest among the builders’ lobby by criticising Chavan. If Chavan is not signing files which has works related to public interest, NCP ministers should resign from the government, both at the Centre and the state,” he said.
