Sir Parshurambhau (SP) College felicitated its former students, who have gone on to achieve great success, on the occasion of its 98th foundation day on Friday.

The alumni included sportsmen Dattatraya More, Rajendra Misal, Harshad Khadiwale, Ganesh Gaekwad, and Nikhil Paradkar. Students, who have received international accolades such as Sandesh Kalantri (selected for the International Astronomy Olympiad) and Amit Zodge (won the Marie Curie Fellowship) were also felicitated.

Ness Wadia College’s director of physical education KS Pingale and founding member of Pimpri Chinchwad Sports Club Madhur Desai were awarded the Jeevan Gaurav Puraskar.

“The alumni committee selected Pingale because of his work in the field of sports at the zonal, university and national level for more than 30 years. He has in-depth knowledge about sports’ rules and technological advances in the field,” said Dilip Sheth, principal of SP College. He added Desai was selected for his work in  the field of athletics.
