With the rains subsided, the potholes on various city roads are now visible and are causing traffic problems to the traffic. 

After receiving 87 complaints about potholes from various parts of the city, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has begun road repair work to fill up the potholes.

The city has not witnessed heavy spells of shower this monsoon so far, however, the intermittent rains only have caused lot of damage to various roads and potholes have been formed at 87 spots due to which commuters are facing hardships. 

These potholes have been formed mainly in areas like Kothrud, Karve Road, Kondhwa Camp, Hadapsar and Model Colony. The commuters complained that the rainwater was accumulated in those potholes due to which commuters were not getting an idea about the depth of the potholes. As the rain has subsided, PMC’s road department began the pothole refilling work at several spots.

Yuvraj Deshmukh, PMC road department’s executive engineer, said, “The roads have dried up and it has given us the opportunity to repair the potholes. The work is being carried out at several places.”
