Ridiculing the media reports about his removal from the post of chief minister, Prithviraj Chavan on Friday said that it was not NCP but Congress leadership who would decide as to who should be the Chief Minister of Maharashtra.Chavan was speaking to media persons after interacting with the under training officers at the Yashwantrao Chavan Academy of Deelopment Adinistration (Yashada). When asked about media reports about the meeting between NCP president Sharad Pawar and Congress leaders, including Ahmed Patel and AK Antony, Chavan said, "The change of leadership in Maharashtra is only in newspapers and news channels.""I have been reading a lot on this only in newspapers. I was sent to Maharashtra by the Congress president in a peculiar situation and I have been working since then. I would continue to work and we are preparing for the assembly polls by harnessing the social media as well as big data management through state of the art technologies," he added.Chavan said that despite implementing various welfare schemes, including Rajiv Gandhi Rural Health Mission, it was the failure to convey it effectively to masses that cost the party heavily during the Lok Sabha elections. He added that infrastructure projects in Mumbai and the rest of the state, solid waster management, water management are the issues which his government was confronting at various levels and he would approach the assembly elections with an effective campaign of the work done so far. Related reoprt P3Gearing up for futureTerming the Lok Sabha election results as unexpected, the chief minister said, "All the chief ministers of the Congress-ruled states have met party president Sonia Gandhi after the results. We have expressed the determination that we would fight the ensuing assembly elections with strength." He also said that the party was studying the reasons for its drubbing in the Lok Sabha elections and would approach the assembly elections with state of the art technology.
