The PMC has also issued notices against illegal construction in Katraj and Sinhagad Road areas
A day after Pune district administration demolished 75 illegal constructions on Satara Road following the drowning case at Shindewadi, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has swung into action and demolished illegal structures at Sahakarnagar and Hingane Khurd areas on Wednesday.
The PMC has also issued notices against illegal construction in Katraj and Sinhagad Road areas. After the district administration took up a drive against illegal construction on the hill slope, PMC followed suit.
On Wednesday, building permission department demolished a structure occupying 1,000 sq ft area in a canal near Gajanan Maharaj temple in Sahakarnagar.
Narendra Salunkhe, executive engineer of PMC’s building permission department, said, “Some people were illegally running a garage there. A 160-m long nala in Hingane Khurd was filled up with debris and retaining wall was also constructed to block the flow at survey number 23 which was demolished. We have also issued notices to some illegal construction in Katraj, Sinhagad Road, Ambegaon, Sukhsagarnagar areas.”
