Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) will now start the process to file the criminal cases against those putting up illegal flexes in the twin town. The PCMC administration has instructed the officers concerned to start filing the cases.

PCMC commissioner Dr Shrikar Pardeshi had recently ordered the civic staff to file criminal cases against those who put up illegal flexes and hoardings in Pimpri Chinchwad area.

PCMC decided to take action against those who raise illegal flexes and hoardings under the municipal corporation Act 397 A, because, unauthorised flexes is a crime, similar to unauthorised constructions. So the civic body initiated serious action against the violators to curb illegal flexes menace. Those who will put up flexes, hoardings etc without prior permission of the civic body will face three months to three years of imprisonment and Rs1,000 to Rs5,000 fine. Recently, the civic body identified nearly 900 illegal flexes and hoardings. The administration has appealed to the citizens to not put any kind of boards, hoardings, flexes without prior permission and also asked to remove if any such flexes were put up anywhere.
