Now, LPG refill cylinder booking by IVRS only

In order to curb illegal supply of Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders in the state, the All India LPG Distributors’ Federation (AILDF) has decided to start booking of refill cylinders for Bharat Gas consumers by Interactive Voice Response (IVRS) only from July 1.
A press communique issued by the AILDF states that refill booking of cylinders will have to be done by using either of the registered landline or cellphone numbers. The customers will have to contact on 9420456789 from their registered landline or mobile numbers. On calling the same, the customers would immediately receive an SMS notifying them about the booking number. Those dialing from landline would be instantly notified about the booking number.
It is now mandatory for all the customers to have registered landline or mobile number with their respective gas agencies or alternatively get it done through the website www.ebharatgas.com.
The AILDF is of the opinion that the system would enable faster refilling of cylinders and at the same time put a control on illegal purchase of LPG.
According to AILDF chairman Vijay Bhave, “The customer response that we have been receiving for the SMS mode of booking has not been great. Customers still queue up at the agencies to make refill bookings and managing the crowd is getting difficult. This hampers our other works as well.”
“With increasing pressure from the oil companies, we are forced to switch to IVRS for cylinder bookings. With this system in place, we hope to provide cylinders in as early as 48 hours. From July 1, no bookings apart from IVRS would be accepted.” said Bhave, adding, IVRS booking will be made compulsory for consumers of other gas companies in the near future.
It is mandatory for the gas agencies to know customer’s registered mobile or landline number along with their bank account details that would ensure transfer of their money.
