Narendra Modi (Namo) Army general secretary B B Somani on Friday announced that the Namo Army would be an apolitical entity but would back BJP or BJP supported candidates in the coming general elections.

While addressing a press conference Somani said that Namo Army was formed in nine states including Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarath, Maharashtra, Chhatisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajsthan, and Punjab. He claimed that there are 15 thousand members of the Namo Army in Pune while there are 40 thousand members in the state.

Somani admitted that he was earlier a member of agitation launched by social worker Anna Hazare against corruption. He informed that there are members in other states who are disillusioned with agitation against corruption launched by Ramdev Baba.
