A doctor couple, who started their practice in Savarghar village in Patan taluka of Satara district just a week ago, were found dead at their residence on Wednesday.
Dr Rahul Joshi and his wife Dr Anuradha Joshi ended their lives by hanging themselves from the ceiling. The cause of suicide could not be ascertained as the couple did not mention anything in their suicide note.
Dr Rahul had told the villagers that he had a BHMS degree and that his wife was a gynaecologist.
The couple had moved to Savarghar just a week ago from Bhose village in Mahabaleshwar taluka. The couple was living in a house they had rented from one Dadasaheb Laxman Hinge.
The villagers suspected something was wrong when the couple did not step out of the house till afternoon. When the villagers forced open a window, they found the doctor couple dead. While Dr Rahul was hanging on a makeshift noose made of a rope and a dupatta, Dr Anuradha was lying on the floor.
Villager Hanmant Sapkar informed the police about the incident. A police team from Tarale rushed to the spot. A note was found containing names of some people and places like Khamgaon, Akola and Shegaon.
