Investigations of the city police into the recent attacks on the North East community has found evidence to prove Pakistan’s role in circulating MMS clips to fan communal sentiments against people of NE through the Internet.
A senior police officer told DNA that the probe by Pune Cyber Crime Cell (CCC) has revealed that more than 15 doctored MMS clips were uploaded on YouTube from Pakistan.
This came to the fore after YouTube authorities replied to a mail sent to them by Pune police seeking details of the clips uploaded last month.
A senior officer attached with Pune police told DNA, “After getting details from YouTube, we went through each of the clip and found that as many as 15 clips were uploaded from Pakistan. In response to our demand, Facebook deactivated 78 links, while YouTube banned five video clips and removed 73.”
During the investigations, the CCC has also found that in one instance, an objectionable clip was uploaded from India.
