Lions Club donates public address system to Pune civic body

The Lions Club of Pune, Bhujbal Baug donated a public address system to the solid waste management department of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) to sensitise citizens about the importance of solid waste management at the household level.

The public address system has been installed on a garbage collection container (ghanta gadi) deployed in Kothrud Gaothan and Dahanukar Colony. A recorded audio tape will be played continuously when the ghanta gadis roam on the internal roads of the housing societies to collect garbage.

The audio tape will educate people about the importance of disposal of garbage, segregation of wet and dry garbage and segregation of degradable and non-degradable garbage to facilitate disposal of garbage at source.

MLA Chandrakant Mokate inaugurated the system in the presence of local corporators Yogesh Mokate and Sangita Deshpande and president of Lions Club of Pune, Bhujbal Baug, Abhijit Bhujbal.
