The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday filed a chargesheet against two persons, including son of a senior IAS officer, in a job scam. The CBI stated in its chargesheet that its investigations revealed that the accused had founded Maharashtra State Krishi Vikas Shilpa Kendra (KVSK) organisation on the lines of Krishi Bikas Shilp Kendra (KBSK), a society in West Bengal.

The KBSK in West Bengal was established by one Prasanjit Bose and it has false authorisation bearing signatures of late prime minister Indira Gandhi for its activities of implementing the 20-point programme.

In its chargesheet, the CBI has named Guruji Sarveshwarji alias Sanjay Shitala Singh (45) and Paresh Thakur (32), son of senior IAS officer Ganesh Thakur, a resident of Kothrud. Police inspector (CBI) Swati Desai submitted the chargesheet through special public prosecutors Ayyub Pathan in the court of special judge Sudhakar Yarlagadda. KVSK allegedly duped several persons under the pretext of giving them plum posts in the district level 20-point programme of the Government of India.

Thakur allegedly posed as KVSK director, offered appointments to people as district directors and divisional directors in KVSK and extracted money from them. Guruji allegedly acted as mediator and collected money from people on behalf of Thakur.

Prasad Prabhakar Sonawane of Nashik district had lodged the complaint against them with the CBI last year. The offences against the duo include 419 (cheating by impersonation), 420 (cheating), 465 (forgery), 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating), 471 (using forged document as genuine) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code.

According to CBI, Thakur was using an emblem of the Government of India on his visiting cards. He also used red beacon on his vehicle without any authority. Thakur was arrested in May 2012, while Guruji was nabbed in August last year. Both of them are currently out on bail.
