Patil was injured when a group of youth threw ink-like liquid on his face at Bhigwan on Friday morning. Patil's family doctor had told DNA on Friday that the Minister has injuries in his left eye cornea.

Patil on Saturday said that he would be writing a letter to Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan demanding inquiry in to the incident. He alleged that it was a conspiracy against him since the liquid thrown on his face contained corrosive chemical which shows that it was a pre-planned conspiracy against him. He said that he would be resting for next 48 hours at his place.
