Gopinath Munde ridicules Rahul Gandhi 's tours, says people distancing from Congress

BJP deputy leader in Lok Sabha Gopinath Munde on Tuesday said that the people of the country would go away from Congress if AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi undertook a tour of the entire country since he has faced defeat wherever he has campaigned. Munde held a meeting of party workers on Tuesday for the graduates constituency elections.

Speaking to media later, Munde said that Rahul had driven out ministers and leaders in his Nagpur meeting. Now BJP would drive Congress out of power in the same way, he said.

Reminding that Rahul Gandhi was defeated by Narendra Modi in the Gujarat assembly polls, Munde said that he also faced defeat when he had campaigned in Bihar during the assembly polls there. He also had campaigned in Uttar Pradesh and was defeated, said Munde.

Ridiculing his unsuccessful attempts, Munde suggested that Rahul Gandhi should undertake a tour of the entire country so that people of the whole nation would go away from Congress.

While replying to a question on arrangements for Rahul’s stay at Raj Bhavan, Munde said it could be for security reasons and there was no point in making it an issue.

Replying to a question on RPI leader Ramdas Athavale’s statement about pulling out of the BJP-Shiv Sena-RPI mega alliance, Munde said, “I have had detailed discussions with Athavale and we would soon hold talks for seat-sharing. We would contest elections under the mega-alliance of BJP-Shiv Sena and RPI.”

‘Modi better than Pawar’
Reacting to NCP chief and Union minister Sharad Pawar’s criticism of Narendra Modi, Munde said, “NCP should not talk about BJP’s affairs since NCP can’t even fetch double digit with regards to its number of MPs. If Pawar can dream of becoming Prime Minister for 25 long years, that too on the tally of just nine Lok Sabha MPs, what is wrong with a leader like Narendra Modi dreaming for the post. He enjoys support of 117 Lok Sabha MPs of his own party.”
