A history sheeter externed from the city recently instigated two teenagers to murder his sister’s 25-year-old lover by telling them that since they are young, they will get a light sentence after getting caught.
This came to light when Lalya Dadar (18) and Vishal Kasbe (18) of Laxminagar were nabbed by Yerawada police for their alleged involvement in murdering Jitendra alias Bablya Bhimrao Gaikwad (25) of Laxminagar.
Gaikwad was stabbed by two teenagers on June 2. He named Lalya and Vishal as assailants in his dying declaration. Gaikwad’s brother Rajan lodged a complaint with Yerawada police.
The duo revealed the involvement of externed history sheeter Kishor alias Lalya Arun Waghmare (30) in the murder.
According to the police records, Waghmare’s involvement has been suspected in 20 cases of robbery, assault and dacoity since 2000 and he has been externed from the city since 2012. He was arrested six months ago for the violation of the externment orders.
Senior inspector Kishor Jadhav said, “Gaikwad too has a criminal past but his involvement has not been suspected in any crime since three years. He was working as a clerk with a private company.”
Jadhav said, “The teenagers were angry with Gaikwad as he had failed to repay them Rs20,000 which he had borrowed. Waghmare too was angry with Gaikwad as the latter was in love with his sister. He instigated the duo to kill Gaikwad and gave them a chopper.”
“After Gaikwad was stabbed, his family shifted him to a hospital and on the way Gaikwad revealed the names of the assailants. On a complaint by Gaikwad’s brother, we held Lalya and Vishal. Initially, they claimed to have killed Gaikwad for failing to repay Rs20,000 borrowed from them,” he added.
