With the arrest of four men, Bibvewadi police claims to have solved 16 house break-in cases which were reported from different areas of the city over the past couple of months. The police have also claimed to have recovered 151 tola gold estimated to be worth Rs37.36 lakh from them.

The suspects have been identified as Sabbu alias Suraj Ravindra Kamble (19), Avinash Suresh Zore (19), Vishwas Vijay Chandanshive (21) and Suraj Rohidas Nalawade (23), residents of Kothrud.

The suspects were first arrested by the Deccan police and later handed over to the Bibvewadi police. “During the interrogations, the suspects confessed their roles in 16 house break-in cases. They had committed crimes in Vishrantwadi, Hinjewadi, Bibvewadi, Kothrud, Warje, Wanavdi, Sahakarnagar, Paud, Bhosari and Market Yard areas,” said the Bibvewadi police. puneinbox@dnaindia.net
