Shaila Dabholkar, wife of late anti-superstitions crusader Dr Narendra Dabholkar has seen the cruel irony of things.While accepting the lifetime achievement award from University of Pune at the 65th anniversary ceremony on Monday, she said, "When my husband was alive, he used to receive life-threatening calls every now and then. Now after his death, he is receiving several awards."She said that the university should start a wisdom stream as the particular aspect is lacking in the society."I request the varsity to take the step further and start such a stream on the university campus," she added.

Apart from Dabholkar, who was given the award posthumously, five others were feted with lifetime achievement awards. They were noted scientist Dr Vasant Govarikar, industrialist Dr Cyrus Poonawala, former minister Babanrao Dhakane, Anantrao Thopate and noted poet Arjun Dangale.

Dr Govarikar said that students and institutes should keep abreast with the latest trend and development in the scientific perspective.Other dignitaries who were present at the ceremony were state governor K Shankarnarayanan, vice chancellor Dr WN Gade and minister for co-operation Harshavardhan Patil.
