Pimpri Police along with Enforcers of Intellectual Property Rights (EIPR) conducted enforcement action at four shops on River road on Thursday. During the enforcement action, the EIPR representatives and the police have seized duplicate mobile accessories that were being stored and sold under the brand name of Samsung. The fake products are to the tune of Rs. 15 lakh. Four persons have been arrested in this connection.Enforcers of Intellectual Property Rights (EIPR) provides governments, businesses and individuals with information, analysis, training, advice and products to mitigate the growing risks associated with white – collar crimes, misuse of property, intrusions to computer networks, e-commerce site construction and usage, fraud, physical attacks, threats, violence, and uninformed decisions based upon incomplete or inaccurate information.Deputy Commissioner ( Zone IV) Rajendra Mane said that the police will take strict action against all those people engaged in selling fake products in name of prominent brands. The police have booked the suspects under various sections of the Copyright act and steps are being to prevent auch incidents from being repeated in the future. Many of the shops were based in Pimpri Camp area. Each handset they were selling at the price of Rs 7,500 around. We have detained the shop keepers and salesman and our team is questioning them."
