Houses would be demolished if roads. amenities implemented as per plan
Following the allegations of bribery concerning preparation of the development plan (DP) of newly merged Tathawade village in Pimpri-Chinchwad, an activist on Thursday alleged that existing land use was not considered while preparing the plan.
As a result, the road network and amenities have been marked such that existing buildings constructed after getting permission from authorities are affected while open spaces belonging to ‘select people’ remain untouched, alleged Bhartiya Vidyarthi Sena’s state vice-president Sarang Kamtekar.
“It is high time the authorities take action against the people involved in the preparation of the development plan. At least the municipal commissioner should act and take away the charge of the DP from the officials facing the allegations and hold a thorough inquiry into the matter.”
A committee comprising Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) standing committee chairman Navnath Jagtap, standing committee members Maya Barne and Sunita Waghere alleged that the reservations in the development plan were done with a vested interest. Jagtap said people who wanted to exclude their land from reservations paid Rs40 lakh per acre.
Kamtekar said, “Circumstantial evidence is enough to prove that the reservations were marked with vested interest. It is evident that Survey numbers 25, 27, 75, 157, and 7 have existing structures of residential buildings but still it has been marked for various amenities. While preparing the plan, the authorities must consider the land use plan, But in case of Tathawade it has not been considered at all. If the road junction proposed in the plan is executed, the entire Jadhavvasti has to be demolished for making way for the junction.”
Move to merge villages with PCMC put on hold
The City Improvement Committee (CIC) of Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has held back the proposal of merging 20 villages including 14 villages around Hinjewadi and six villages around Chakan within its limits.
The villagers of Hinjewadi and surrounding six villages had expressed dissatisfaction over the merger.
The meeting was chaired by CIC head Asha Supe. Last month, the state authority had asked PCMC to send its views on the merger. Accordingly, the civic administration had tabled the proposal before the CIC.
These villages include Dehu, Alandi and Chakan. The civic body had presented the proposal before the CIC in front of group leaders of political parties and they had in principle approved the proposal.
PCMC collected huge taxes from these villages. Several residents of these villages stopped paying taxes. PCMC collects drainage tax and other taxes for providing various facilities to the residents.
Meanwhile, the BJP leaders gheraod city engineer MT Kamble on Thursday demanding proper civic amenities for Charholi.
