Henceforth, when you visit your family doctor’s clinic, you will find posters on its walls with messages of water conservation.The General Practitioners Association members have decided to display serious dimensions of drought and measures for water conservation in their clinics.Nearly, 750 members of the association will display the boards and also keep leaflets and pamphlets on water conservations at their clinics. The general practitioners in the city took out a morcha for the cause on Sunday. They also presented a street play to create awareness on the issue. More than 200 doctors participated in the rally which was taken out from the Indian Medical Association office on Tilak Road to Lokmanya Tilak Chowk near Alka Theatre. Association president, Sunil Paigude, joint secretary Ravindra Sonar and Jagdish Galinde said that the decision has been taken by the members to contribute towards drought relief. Dr Deepali Bhujbal wrote the street play which was performed during the rally. “All the members will contribute Rs1,000 each for drought relief. Part of the amount will be directly given to the drought relief fund while some amount will be given to Vasundhara Abhiyaan which is undertaking drought relief work in Maan taluka in Satara under the leadership of Dr Chandrakant Garudkar.
