Chillar party: Ajit Pawar, Kishor Pingale fail to submit personal bond

Jayant Pawar, the cousin of deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar and owner of River View Hotel, and Kishor Pingale, owner of the land on which the hotel has been built, failed to submit their personal bonds to the court on Wednesday as per the conditions of bail granted to them in the ‘chillar party’ case.

On August 25, social security branch sleuths had busted a ‘chillar party’ at River View Hotel where about 800 minor children were served alcohol.

As per the police report, Pawar and Pingale are
owners of the hotel in Mundhwa and the land on which it has come up. The hotel is run by Ahmed Shaikh, who had asked for the permission to organise a party from the police, claiming that it was a ‘get-together’.

Mundhwa police constable BB Jagtap had registered a case against the duo under relevant sections of Bombay Police Act, 1951.

Judicial magistrate (first class) VV Muglikar had granted bail to Pawar and Pingale on September 5. In his order, magistrate Mugalikar had stated, “Both are released on cash security of Rs10,000 each and till the next date that is on September 19, both are directed to execute personal bond of Rs15,000.”

However, the two failed to execute the bond till September 18, and the court had holiday on account of Ganesh Chaturthi on Wednesday. Pawar’s lawyer Viraj Kakade told DNA, “We will be furnishing the personal bond on Thursday.”
