Instituted by the Pune-based Architects, Engineers and Surveyors Association, the Educational Awards 2012 boost engineering students.
The Educational Awards 2012, instituted by the Architects, Engineers and Surveyors Association (AESA) of Pune, served as a booster for the winners, as they feel that the award will serve as an encouragement for them in their respective careers.
Supriya Shinde, topper in BE civil engineering, aspires to appear for the civil service commission exams. “I am happy to achieve my target of topping the examination,” said an elated Supriya, who is a student of Vidya Pratishtan’s College of Engineer, Baramati.
For Snehal Pisal, BE architecture topper, who wants to improve the city’s traffic, the award will boost her to do better projects in future. “I had a year down when I was in 3rd year of BE Arch. But as it is said, failure is a step towards success, I worked hard in the fourth and final year and topped it,” said Snehal , a student of BN College of Architecture, Pune.
Secretary of the association, Sanjay Tasgaonkar said, “For the last 25 years we are giving the awards to the students. The award consists of Rs5,000 for the topper and Rs3,000 for the second topper along with a certificate and citation.” The awards were distributed by vice-chancellor of Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth Deepak Tilak at a function on Monday.
