9-year-old boy found dead in Dehu Road

In a shocking incident, an autorickshaw driver from Bhiwandi allegedly murdered the nine-year-old son of his lover, because she was not willing to elope and marry him on account of her son. The boy’s body was found hidden in the bushes behind Kendriya Vidyalaya school in Dehu Road on Monday morning.

Police ascertained identity of the dead boy as
Akshay Suresh Patil, a resident of Service quarters, Aakalapuri in Dehu. Akshay was studying in class V at a school in Nigdi.
Akshay’s mother Mangal (40) too suspects her paramour Guddu Keshav Yadav (42), a resident of Bhiwandi, Mumbai to be involved in her son’s death.

In a complaint she has filed with the police, Yadav has been booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, 1860, for the murder.

Ram Jadhav, senior inspector of Dehu Road police station said, “Yadav is unmarried. Mangal had lost her husband in March this year. Mangal is a mother of three children, and Akshay was the youngest son with two elder sisters, aged 20 and 12 years.”

Jadhav said, “Mangal worked as domestic help at the residence of one of the officers working with the Ordnance Factory. Besides this, she would stitch seat covers for autorickshaws and other vehicles. Mangal and Yadav knew each other since the last four years, when Mangal lived in Bhiwandi. About a year ago, Mangal’s husband came to know about the affair between Yadav and Mangal and shifted to Dehu Road.”

He added, “After Mangal’s husband died, Yadav started visiting her home. He was insisting that they elope and marry. Since Mangal did not agree to that, he started suspecting her fidelity. That made Mangal avoid him.”

Jadhav said, “Yadav went to Mangal’s house around 8 pm on Sunday and took Akshay out with him saying he would buy ice-cream for him. That was the last time that Akshay was seen alive. Later, around 8.30 am on Monday, Yadav called Mangal using his mobile admitting he had murdered Akshay and giving information about the spot where his body lay.”

According to the police, Akshay’s postmortem has revealed that he was first assaulted and then strangulated.
The Dehu Road police have formed two teams to track down Yadav and arrest him.
