The civic body had intensified its action following a high court order asking the municipal corporation to remove all illegal flex boards and hoardings in its jurisdiction.
According to assistant commissioner (licences and permission department) Satish Kulkarni, the PCMC collected a fine of over Rs 1.85 lakh since January this year. As many as 1,400 illegal flex boards and hoardings were removed in Ward-A; 1,600 in Ward-B; 1,109 in Ward-C and 1,480 in Ward-D.
Stepping up the action, PCMC commissioner Dr Shrikar Pardeshi had recently ordered the civic officials to file criminal cases against those putting illegal flex boards and hoardings in the twin town.
