10 alternatives to Voter ID Card for voting on poll day.

With voting day almost here, those who have misplaced their Electoral Photo Identity Card (EPIC or Voter ID Card) or have not yet gotten it can use 10 other identity cards as proof of Indian citizenship in order to cast their vote, provided their name is in the electoral roll.

Pune: A press release issued by the Election Commission of India (ECI) said that in the absence of Voter ID cards, people have been allowed to produce the following 10 documents for providing their identity, provided their name is in the electoral roll.

  1. Passport
  2. Driving license
  3. Service Identity Cards with photographs issued to employees by Central, State Govt, Public Sector Undertakings, Public Limited Companies.
  4. Passbooks with Photograph issued by Bank or Post Office
  5. PAN card
  6. Aadhar card
  7. Smart Card issued by Registrar General of India(RGI) under National Population Register
  8. Pension order with photo
  9. MNREGA (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Gurantee Act Job Card
  10. Health Insurance Smart Card issued under the scheme of Ministry of Labour
