Wondershare(TM) Announces Winners for the Scholarship Program Aiding College-bound High School Graduates

SACRAMENTO, Calif., June 19, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Wondershare, a world-class developer of Windows® and Mac® utility applications and mobile apps announced today the winners for its scholarship program which aims to aid college-bound high school seniors and further inspire their interests in technology. Stefani Pyorre from Antelope High School in Antelope, CA and Faith Lemire-Baeten from Liberty Ranch High School in Galt, CA have been awarded $1,000.00 scholarships; owing to their outstanding essays and unique ideas on how technology changes and enriches people's lives.

Nowadays, it's often a challenge for high school students to pay for college. This has the effect of keeping some of our brightest minds from getting a college degree, and denies the global workforce qualified technology-oriented workers. Under such circumstances, Wondershare started this scholarship program in March this year, hoping to step up to help combat the problem by providing technology and financial resources to students.

Faith Lemire-Baeten, who graduated class Valedictorian and will be attending Harvey Mudd College as an engineering student said "Thanks Wondershare for awarding me with this scholarship and providing me the opportunity to help innovate the next set of technologies the world will rely on."

Stefani Pyorre, to be studying computer engineering at the University of California Santa Barbara, was honored to be selected as the second scholarship winner and added "We are witnessing technology's capacity to make an awesome difference in the world in which we live, and winning Wondershare scholarship will help reduce my financial burdens and encourage me to pursue greater excellence through innovation at UCSB."

In addition to the scholarship program, Wondershare also announced the "Software for Schools" donation program back in March to include new software titles available to schools. To date, Wondershare has donated more than 1,000 copies of its popular Video Editor movie making software, and now additional titles including Wondershare PDF Editor for Windows (excluding the optional OCR Plugin) and PDF Editor for Mac are available for donation.
