Following on the heels of the University Grants Commission (UGC) announcement, requiring schools and colleges in India to phase out animal dissection in favour of computer simulations, PETA India (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) has offered to sponsor virtual frog dissection software for science laboratories that are ready to start replacing dissection with a more humane, digital alternative.
