Actuators Classified by Temperature and Vibration
HONG KONG, Sept. 28, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Johnson Electric today announced a valve actuator product line for engine coolant circuits and cabin refrigerant circuits. Marketed under the Saia-Burgess brand, the actuator product line is designed to improve fuel efficiency, reduce emissions and increase driving range for electric and hybrid cars. These new valve actuators provide a wide range of speed and torque performance for custom designs used in all power-train types. The product line is organized into three classes of actuators based on temperature, vibration and mounting requirements.
Class 1 actuators are for chassis mounted valves with operating temperatures up to 105 degrees C.
Class 2 actuators are for transmission mounted valves with operating temperatures up to 125 degrees C.
Class 3 actuators are for engine mounted valves with operating temperatures up to 140 degrees C.
"Replacement of thermostats and adding precision valves improves engine thermal management for better fuel economy and reduced emissions," said Jim Dick, Johnson Electric senior vice president of Strategic Marketing.
