TOKYO, Dec. 19, 2011 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Japan once again displays a strong showing in The Miele Guide as the third largest chapter with 52 restaurants included in this year's 2011/2012 edition. Covering four cities, the listed restaurants feature a diverse selection of cuisines, but all the restaurants in Japan's Top 5 list are from Tokyo.

For the fourth consecutive year, the world-renowned L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon dominates Japan's Top 5 list. Helming the Tokyo branch is the capable Chef Kenichro Sekiya, who executes Joel Robuchon's signature creations to perfection.

Second in the list is The White Fox, a sushiya-style restaurant in the idyllic town of Oji that serves Chef Trevor Blyth's haute cuisine at reasonable prices.

With his avant-garde techniques and focus on traditional Japanese ingredients, Chef Seiji Yamamoto's Ryugin is third in Japan's Top 5. Les Creations de Narisawa in fourth place showcases Chef Yoshihiro Narisawa's innovative combination of French techniques, seasonal ingredients and Japanese aesthetics.

In fifth place, Elio Locanda Italiana is a casual family-run eatery owned by Southern Italian Elio Orsara.
