Content

Oncolex contains theoretical and practical information for treatment of the various forms of cancer, including descriptions of procedures within diagnostics, prognostics, surgery, drugs and radiation therapies. All types of cancer are covered, explaining ways of diagnosing cancer, as well as determining the stage and possible spreading of the cancerous growth.  Details such as surgical instruments used and cell level histological analyses are also described.

Oncolex presents its visitors with a complete tutorial to understand the intricacies of cancer care. Videos from operation theatres provide unique tutorials for surgeons treating cancer patients as well as medical students in training.

Customizable search options are available, so users may filter out information such as surgical procedures or radiation therapy.

Users

Few hospitals and medical centers have cancer specialists on site. Oncolex acts as an accessible resource for health care providers in need of specialized information when treating and informing their cancer patients.

Many cancer patients or their loved ones seek information online. Unfortunately the internet provides both valid and invalid information. Oncolex is constantly revised and reviewed, ensuring up-to-date information.

Contributors

More than 100 cancer specialists from the Norwegian Radium Hospital at Oslo University Hospital and MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston have contributed to the content of Oncolex. They are acclaimed and acknowledged clinicians with many years' experience in cancer treatment, surgery, patient follow-up and medical research.
