Advisory Research Inc. Opens Representative Office In Tokyo
CHICAGO, Sept. 24, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Advisory Research Inc. announced today that the Chicago-based company has opened its first office in Tokyo to strengthen its investment research platform and establish an on-the-ground presence in the Japanese market.
Fumie Kikuchi, who worked in Advisory Research's headquarters in Chicago for the last year, will serve as ARI's Representative in the firm's Tokyo office. Ms. Kikuchi, a Japanese national, worked at JP Morgan Asset Management for five years before coming to Advisory Research. She began her career at Daiwa Securities and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in public policy from Keio University in Japan.
"Our Tokyo office will broaden our ability to research and invest in the Japanese market, as well as increase the amount of support we can provide our Japan-based clients," said Brien O'Brien, Chairman of Advisory Research. "As a Japanese national with expertise in the Japanese market in general and Advisory Research's Japan strategies and overall business in particular, Fumie Kikuchi is the ideal candidate to facilitate our expansion efforts in this very important economy."
In her new role, Ms. Kikuchi will focus on conducting local market research to support the portfolio management and research team in Chicago, and on supporting Japanese clients. Advisory Research manages over $8.5 billion in total assets across various value-oriented strategies, including Japan equities, U.S. equities and global equities strategies.
