Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) issued Aadhaar is currently one of the most important documents that one can carry. After the Aadhaar cards were introduced back in 2009, it has been a part of our day-to-day life. From loaning a car to availing pension schemes, Aadhaar is mandatory for all.

Today, let us tell you about the top 10 things for which you need your Aadhaar proof. 

Overall Proof 

UIDAI's Aadhaar card is nationally recognised and is accepted as identification proof almost everywhere. 

International Travel 

If you are an Indian citizen who wishes to travel abroad, you will require an Aadhaar card to either issue a passport or renew a new one. 

Education 

For higher studies and competitive exams like JEE, NEET, among others, one needs to compulsory provide Aadhaar as identification proof. 

Banking Services 

Aadhar is compulsory for anyone who wants to open a bank account, especially under the savings account category.

Cooking Gas 

 Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) or domestic cooking gas cylinders are a common occurrence in a lot of Indian households. In order to book these cylinders for your home, you need to give Aadhaar details as address and identity proof. 

Pension 

An Aadhar card is mandatory if you wish to utilise your pension scheme and want to enjoy all its benefits.

Ration Shops 

If you want to buy consumer goods at subsidised rate then you go to the nationwide facility, Public Distribution System (PDS). In order to avail of its services, apart from the ration card, one also needs to carry an Aadhar.

Provident Fund (PF)

As of September 2021, the government has made it compulsory for Aadhaar to be linked to the PF in order to enjoy the full spectrum of benefits. 

NRIs aka Non-Resident Indians 

If you are an NRI and want to open a bank account in India then Aadhaar proof of identification is compulsory. 

PAN Card 

If you are unable to link your Aadhaar to your PAN card by September 30, 2021, then your PAN will be deemed invalid.  Under Section 139AA of the Income Tax Act, the government has mandated that every individual with PAN as of July 1, 2017, who is eligible to obtain Aadhaar, must link PAN with Aadhaar.
