Jeevan Shanti policy is a non-linked, non-participating, individual, single-premium deferred annuity scheme.

LIC Jeevan Shanti Scheme features-

1. LIC Jeevan Shanti scheme guarantees lifelong income to the policyholders. It is a one-time investment policy.

2. There are two annuity options available — deferred annuity for single life, and deferred annuity for joint life.

3. The buyers have the option to choose either immediate annuity or postpone it to a future date as a deferred annuity. 

4. The annuity rates are guaranteed at the inception of the policy for both Immediate and Deferred Annuity and annuities are payable throughout the lifetime of the annuitant.

5. You can buy LIC Jeevan Shaanti Scheme in both online and offline mode. It is a comprehensive annuity plan in which both the investor and their family will receive the benefits. To purchase the plan online, you can visit the LIC website at www.licindia.in.

6. This policy can be purchased by any Indian citizen, who is above 30 and below 85 years of age.

7. This scheme also offers a loan facility after completion of 1 policy year. 

If you are a 45-year aged individual and you have invested Rs 10 lakh in this scheme then you will get a yearly pension of Rs 74,300. You can opt to get the pension immediately or after 15-20 years. The amount of the pension will increase in the latter option, but it has few terms and conditions. You can obtain the return on a monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, or annual basis.
