Investing in under-construction property is a mistake: Debina Bonnerjee
I believe money is a very temporary factor and if you do not invest it intelligently you will not be able to hold money
Debina Bonnerjee, television actor, shares some money tips
Your first paycheck
My first paycheck was invested in the post office scheme by my dad
Most expensive purchase till date
My Gucci handbag which I did not buy from abroad, but from Calcutta. I don't know why maybe I was too mesmerised with it
Who manages your money and where do you invest
I mostly manage it myself, but my brother who is a financial advisor with the bank advises me about where to invest, how to invest. So I mostly invest in shares, mutual funds and property
Your advice about money
I believe money is a very temporary factor and if you do not invest it intelligently you will not be able to hold money. You need to be intelligent enough to save something for the future and not just live in the current. And also don't keep all your eggs in one basket. So divide your investment in different things
Your money mistake
I thought investing in property gives you the best return and very secured. So I invested in a certain property which was under construction but it got stuck. So under construction property investment is definitely a risky proposition and I made a mistake and am still stuck there for eight years already. Don't know how much more time it will take
Next big purchase you are planning
No I do not plan any big purchase. I plan the purchase depending on the situation, if I get something nice or if the share market is correct only then I invest. So nothing is pre-planned.
