Gold prices in India saw a jump of Rs 147 or 0.31 per cent on Friday (July 9) after seeing a slump on the previous day. On the Multi-Commodity Exchange (MCX), gold prices maturing on August 5 stand at Rs 47,844 per 10 grams. Meanwhile, silver rates maturing on September 3 stand at Rs 68,789 per kg on the MCX, recording a downfall of Rs 168 or 0.24 per cent.

In the international market, gold edged higher on Friday as a drop in US Treasury yields had lifted yellow metal’s demand. It was set for its third straight weekly gain.
