In a relief to lakhs of EPFO pensioners, the last date for submitting their Jeevan Pramaan Patra has been extended to February 28, 2021. Not just that, they can now submit their Life Certificate digitally. Instead of visiting the office of disbursing agency for physical submission of life certificate, they can now use the Aadhaar enabled biometric authentication mechanism to generate DLC.

Earlier, the deadline for submission of Life Certificate was extended to December 31, in view of the COVID-19 pandemic. The deadline for the submission has always been November 30, but the Centre decided to give the pensioners an extra window of 31 days to present their Jeevan Pramaan Patra.

All pensioners under EPS-95 (Employees Pension Scheme-1995) are required to submit Jeevan Pramaan Patra (JPP) / Digital Life Certificate (DLC) each year to continue drawing pension.

A postman from the nearest post office will visit a pensioner and complete the process of generating DLC at his/her home itself.

As per fresh guidelines, EPS pensioners can now submit DLC at any time during the year, as per their convenience.

Digital Life Certificate for Pensioner

Digital Life Certificate or Jeevan Pramaan is a biometric-enabled digital service for pensioners. This service can be availed without being physically present at the pension disbursing agency or have the Life Certificate issued by the authority.

India Post Payments Bank (IPPB)

India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) with its unique ability to deliver services at the doorsteps of the pensioners in an assisted mode, is now facilitating the generation of DLC based on the integration with application designed and maintained by National Informatics Centre (NIC), Government of India. This service is available for both IPPB and non-IPPB customers.
