Atal Pension Yojana: Save Rs 7 a day, get Rs 5,000 monthly pension

The Central Government had started the Atal Pension Yojana to provide pensions to the workers of the unorganized sector. This scheme was started by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on May 9, 2015. The rapid involvement of people in this scheme shows how successful this scheme is.

According to the data of PFRDA, the number of subscribers of Atal Pension Yojana (APY) has increased by 3.30 crores till August 25, 2021. In the current financial year, more than 28 lakh accounts have been opened under this pension scheme.

According to PFRDA data, about 78% of the subscribers have opted for a pension plan of Rs 1,000. At the same time, about 14% of the subscribers have opted for a pension scheme of Rs 5,000. Under this scheme, after 60 years of age, pension of Rs 1,000, 2,000, 3,000, 4,000 and Rs 5,000 is available. Any citizen of 18 to 40 years who has a savings account in a bank or post office can join this scheme.

If you open an account under this scheme, you will have to deposit Rs 210 every month. Accordingly, in one year, it will be Rs 2,520. You have to save this Rs 210 till the age of 60 years. After this, Rs 5,000 will keep coming in your account every month, which will be Rs 60,000 rupees annually.

To get the maximum benefit, you have to join this scheme as soon as possible. If you join this scheme at the age of 18, then you can get a pension of Rs 5,000 every month by depositing only 7 rupees every day in this scheme.

At the same time, for a monthly pension of Rs 1,000 every month, only Rs 42 will have to be deposited per month. While Rs 84 for Rs 2,000 pension, Rs 126 for Rs 3,000 and Rs 168 for a monthly pension of Rs 4,000 will have to be deposited every month.
