7 lakh government employees in these states to get bumper money from May

For the government employees of Punjab or Himachal Pradesh, the month of May is going to bring happiness. They are going to get a bumper amount this month. The governments of both states are going to give the 6th Pay Commission gift to the employees. This is expected to benefit about seven lakh employees in both states.

The Congress government of Punjab has announced to implement the new pay scale for employees after April 30. Alongside, it will also be implemented in Himachal Pradesh. It may be noted that the government of Himachal Pradesh follows the policies of Punjab. In 2016, a panel was constituted for the 6th Pay Commission in Punjab. Its report is about to be released. The increase in salary will be implemented on the basis of that report.

According to Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jairam Thakur, Punjab has decided to implement the new pay commission, and the Himachal government will also implement it.

Under the new pension scheme, the government has increased the retirement and gratuity for the employees who have retired from the year 2003 to 2017. With this, they have been given benefits of about Rs 110 crore. According to the Chief Minister, the state government has decided to increase the state's share of basic salary, dearness allowance and NPA from 10 percent to 14 percent under the new pension scheme. With this decision, 3.25 lakh government employees and more than 3 lakh pensioners in Punjab will get the benefits. About 2.5 lakh government employees of Himachal Pradesh will also get the benefits.
