PNB has stated that the old IFSC and MICR codes have been replaced by the bank. This means that these codes will not work after March 31, 2021.

If you want to transfer money, then you have to get a new code from the bank. Only then you will be able to do the transaction.

On April 1, 2020, the government had merged the three banks of the country, Punjab National Bank, Oriental Bank of Commerce and United Bank of India. All branches of United Bank of India and Oriental Bank of Commerce are now functioning as branches of PNB. After this, the customers' cheque book, IFSC/MICR Code will be changed.

The Punjab National Bank shared this information on Twitter. The bank has said that the old cheque book and IFSC/MICR code of Oriental Bank of Commerce and United Bank of India will work only till March 31, 2021. After this, you have to get a new code and cheque book from the bank.

After the merger of these banks, the codes and cheque books of both the banks have changed, for which the customers will have to go to the bank and get a new cheque book. Customers can also call the toll free number 18001802222/18001032222 for more information.
