In a major development, salary hike as well as arrears are announced for the government employees of Chhattisgarh. The arrears will come from January. The government employees in Chhattisgarh had their DA and arrears cleared based on 7th CPC pay system.

A press release issued by the Chhattisgarh Finance department announced that the increased salary will be effective from January 2021.

These employees will also get arrears from July 1, 2020, to December 31, 2020.

According to reports, the central government employees would get four percent increase in 7th Pay Commission linked dearness allowance (DA) which is expected in January 2021 itself.

The Modi government recently decided to extend "Disability Compensation" for all serving employees, if they get disabled in the line of duty and are retained in service in spite of such disablement.

In March 2020, the Union Cabinet approved to release an additional instalment of DA to Central Government employees and Dearness Relief (DR) to pensioners w.e.f. 01.01.2020 as linked to 7th Pay Commission.

The combined impact on the exchequer on account of both Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief was fixed at Rs 12,510.04 crore per annum and Rs 14,595.04 crore in Financial Year 2020-21. The Centre's decision will benefit about 48.34 lakh Central Government employees and 65.26 lakh pensioners.
